Weekly handicap still uses recent scores from each side. Matches remain handicap-based, and double par is now the max score for speed of play.
Preferred lies are in the fairway only. OB and lost ball relief stay similar to current play, but are standardized to a 2 club-length drop with a 1-stroke penalty.
Using the most recent four scores per side, the highest score of the four is thrown out and the lowest three are averaged as part of the current weekly handicap method.
Each match is worth 10 points: 1 point per hole and 1 point on total net score, with all points based on handicap.
When subs with no handicap are asked to play, the match-ups are predetermined before play starts.
The sub plays the opponent the scheduled player was originally supposed to play.
Hazards, out of bounds, and lost balls all follow the same general drop approach, with relief taken within 2 club-lengths and a 1-stroke penalty.
The key difference is that a hazard can still be played from, while out of bounds requires full relief.
The maximum score a player can take on a hole is double par.
This is in place primarily for speed of play.
A no show is when a player does not come and does not get a sub to represent them.
Any team that has two or more no shows during the season is subject to being replaced the following year.
If a player does not show and does not get a sub, the opponent must still play the course but receives 110% of their handicap. The absent team receives no points for that game, but may still earn points in the other game if a player is present there.
If the course is open, the league is expected to play.
If the course has not announced a closure ahead of time, players are expected to meet at the course prepared to play. If weather becomes an issue on site, South Hills or league members at the course may determine that play should be cancelled.
