Lakewood Rod & Gun 2026

League Review

Quick Review

This is the suggested two-division format from South Hills and is based on how their Wednesday night league currently operates. Questions? Read the FAQ.

Format

  • Two divisions, one shared league: regular season stays inside each division, then both divisions reconnect in playoffs and interleague weeks.
  • 3:00 PM start helps course flow: it spreads out the first tee, reduces backup and hole-jumping pressure, and should help speed up play.
  • 16-team playoff target: the working bracket is 8 qualifiers from each division into one mixed championship field.
  • Availability-based placement: late-time needs would be accommodated first, then the remaining field can be placed more randomly.
  • Additional interleague weeks: extra weeks at the end of the season would be used for an interleague cup.
  • Make up the full schedule first: if weather or another issue wipes out a week, all scheduled weeks would be played before playoffs begin.

Rules And Betting

  • Fairway-only rolling: preferred lies would be in the fairway only, not all over the course.
  • Hazards, OB, and lost ball relief: all would use the same drop idea, except hazards can still be played from and OB requires full relief.
  • Double par max for speed of play: that would replace the current max-score treatment.
  • Large Skins are now NET & GROSS SKINS: they increase to $12 a week and require a season subscription before play begins.
  • League Games are now NET SKINS: closest to the pin stays included, and paying ahead of time is still encouraged.
  • New upfront greens and cart fee option: players who pay ahead would secure 3 nine-hole rain checks.
