How To Read This

Weekly team points come from the 2025 standings file and are matched to the corrected 2025 schedule. The number in parentheses at the end of each line is the difference from that team’s own 2025 scoring average, so positive values mean they scored better than their usual week.

What Makes 2025 Stand Out

Across 2023-2025, teams that missed more top-4 opponents tended to finish a little higher overall. The strongest single-year version of that pattern was actually 2024, not 2025.

In 2025, teams that played every top-4 opponent averaged an 11.05 finish, while teams that missed at least one top-4 opponent averaged 10.50. The gap was only 0.55 places.

The real 2025 top-four detail is narrower than I had stated earlier:

• Bill Johnson / Bryce Ireland did play John Angeletti Jr. / Jeff Angeletti, and they met twice: 6/23/2025 and 8/25/2025.
• Jody Gwin / Kane Desmond did play PJ Degnan / Casey Digirolamo on 8/25/2025.
• The only top-4 matchup that did not happen was John Angeletti Jr. / Jeff Angeletti versus PJ Degnan / Casey Digirolamo, except they also played once on 4/21/2025 in the schedule grid but that week is not in the scored standings sample.
• Within the scored regular-season sample, John / Jeff missed PJ / Casey, and PJ / Casey missed John / Jeff.

So the better fairness argument is broader: the schedule did not force a perfectly shared top-end slate, but the 2025 top four was not as mutually avoided as I had previously written.
